How much are you willing to pay?
Minolta is a great camera to start out on, and after you feel you are ready to move on to a sophisicated camera, there are infinite amounts to choose from.
I suppose if your looking for a camera to shoot sound, so you want a camera that doesn't make a lot of noise. If you have sound film, your lucky, they don't make it any more.
Go to Mike Brantley's website, scroll to the bottom, and look under Hunting Hardware. If you go to the "super 8 list" website it will have specs on cameras, and if you go to the mondofoto site, you will find pictures!--maybe of the one you want.
Dont go out and spend a lot of money on a camera without investigating.
Fifty bucks should get you real far.
Anyone else with some suggestions.

Uh, a video villager wants info on Super-8 and you tell him for Fifty bucks he should be able to get what he wants.
If you were a pimp, you'd be broke.
Come to think of it...didn't you recently post that you were broke?......hmmmm.

Fifty bucks for a camera to learn on,
not fifty bucks for all the information he wants.
???
Scott
Thanks for reminding of my monetary status.

You'd be giving away "free samples" to everybody telling them how cheap but good your "product" was....

(Philosophical question...is it an insult to say you would be a failure as a pimp?)

I must be off my rocker.
Think I should go back to prescription medication.

If you are willing to take the e-bay gamble now is the time to bid. I got a Minolta XL 401 (which has time lapse capability) for $40.00 -- perfect condition...I've seen Canon 814s go for around $80-$120...
Someone was trying to get rid of a Bolex 160 (not that it compares to a Canon 814 but it has a pretty good macro zoom lens) for under $40.00 and no one bid on it!
